“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Rest. You crave it. Your body needs it. Your tired soul longs for it. But in the madness of your day-to-day rush, how can you possibly find it? Truth be told, when life’s demands overwhelm us, the first thing we sacrifice is our own rest. But God has a different plan for us: He made us to enjoy deep, reviving refreshment in Him. 365 Devotions for Finding Rest will guide you in a yearlong journey toward embracing His rest in your life. You’ll be amazed as God’s peace and restoration transform you.
My take on this devotional:
The cover of this devotional is perfect for me because I have found my most restful moments sitting on a porch swing, sometimes enjoying the company of family but most often just experiencing peaceful tranquility on my front porch. Within the pages of this devotional the author provides us with wonderful readings that will allow us to find rest with our saviour. First of all the quality of this book is wonderful, the hard back cover is such a pretty purple color, and the dedication page isn't overly done, which is perfect in it's simplicity. Each devotion opens with a scripture, a short story and then concludes with what I consider a small prayer. The ribbon bookmark is a nice addition. I love that there is even a scripture index at the end of the book. I have been randomly reading the devotions in this book but beginning Jan. 1st this will be one of the devotionals that I read daily for the entire year. It's certainly provides the scripture verses that are perfect for providing not only physical rest but spiritual rest and nourishment for the soul.
