My take on this book:
An easy summertime historical read that flows along smoothly, but does throw in a few bumps and twists, especially with the relationship that develops between Charlotte and Joel, to keep the plot interesting. The Year is 1910 and Charlotte Gregory has just graduated from cooking school and wants to embark on her career, thing is putting her culinary skills to work isn't easy because it is a man's world and it isn't very welcoming to females!
I loved the character of Charlotte, she knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to speak her mind! Her last relationship wasn't great so she isn't looking for love, but when she meets Joel, I just knew that was where the couple was headed. I loved the way the pair often butted heads! While this book is the second in the Gregory Sisters series the author provides enough background information that it can be read as a stand alone. Anyone who enjoys a good clean historical romantic read will probably enjoy this one, I know I did!
