The softcover edition of today’s # 1-selling annual reading Bible, The One Year Bible, is being launched in both the New Living Translation (NLT) and New International Version (NIV), at the lowest price in 20 years. The One Year Bible helps people read through the entire Bible in as little as 20 minutes a day with daily readings from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs. In September 2009 Tyndale House Publishers and Group Publishing will launch a joint nationwide promotion aimed at engaging people in reading through The One Year Bible. The vision is to engage 10 million people around the world in reading the Bible 20 minutes each day starting in 2010.
My take on this Bible:
This is the softcover version of The One Year Bible in the NIV version. As a collector of Bible's this one is a bit non traditional for me in the fact that it is set up with 20 minute daily readings from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs.I think this will be a unique way to start out my daily Bible reading for the New Year. There are several things that I like about this Bible. First it is a softcover which makes it easy to handle. The print is a nice size making it easy to read, and the translation of NIV makes it easier for me to understand what I am reading. There are informational footnotes peppered thru-out as well. The only thing that I would change about this Bible would be that I would have liked some space for note taking, otherwise it's a great little basic Daily Bible with a pretty cover, that's economically priced. I plan on using this reading plan to accomplish my Bible reading goals in the New Year!
