About the book from goodreads:
TWO BRILLIANT AGENTS
FBI Special Agent Monica Davenport has made a career out of profiling serial killers. But getting inside the twisted minds of the cruel and the sadistic has taken its toll: She's walled herself off from the world. Yet Monica can't ignore fellow agent Luke Dante, the only man who ever broke through her defenses.
ONE DREAM TEAM
Luke has the unique ability to put victims at ease . . . professionally, he and Monica made a perfect team. Now they're reunited to catch a murderer who uses his victims' deepest, darkest fears for sport - but their investigative skills aren't enough. Luke and Monica will have to face the secrets from their past, the ones that terrify them the most, if they are to have a future together.
But can they catch a killer whose weapon is . . .
My take on this book:
Special Agent Monica Davenport is the best profiler in the business.
Luke Dante has just come of a case where he brought down the Sorority Stalker. He had already been overlooked once for the SSD (Serial Services Division), but now he has been chosen to join the team, so imagine his surprise when he walks into his first meeting and sees Monica Davenport, an agent he had trained with, someone he had shared a past with.
When they are thrown together to track and capture a serial killer known as the Watchman. The Watchman is different in that he studies his victims sometimes for months figuring out what they fear worse than death and then torturing them with it for days before killing them. The killings are escalating and he wants Monica and Luke to play his deadly game. If they are going to survive they will have to face what they fear most.
This was an amazing book, following these two agents and getting into the mind of a serial killer is amazing, and the creepy mind games this sicko plays will defiantly send shivers down your spine.
This book has it all romance, drama, suspense, murder along with mystery. I must say that the sexual descriptions in this book were very graphic, doesn't bother me but it might be off putting to some readers. This is a very fast paced book that doesn't reveal who the killer is till the very end.
This is my first opportunity to read Cynthia Eden's work, not sure how I missed this amazing author, but I am anxious to read some of her other work.
Deadly Fear is the first in a three book series with the other two books , Deadly Heat and Deadly Lies due out in early 2011.

Five Fun Facts:
1. Cynthia incorporated many of her own fears in Deadly Fear. Was it therapeutic for her? No, now she has more fears!
2. Cynthia has tried to face her ophidiophobia (fear of snakes) by visiting zoos and petting snakes. No, that hasn’t worked so well for her, either. Though, oddly, one of her favorite movies is Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid. She thinks snakes are best from a very nice distance.
3. If you ask her, Cynthia can instantly tell you at least five ways to get rid of a body — without leaving evidence behind. It makes for fun dinner conversation.
4. Cynthia has several shelves full of books that tell you how to commit the perfect crime. These books make her husband very nervous.
