A Summer Secret by Kathleen Fuller
A Summer Secret by Kathleen Fuller is an Amish mystery that takes place in Middlefield Ohio. Mary Beth Mullett is a 13 yr old Amish girl that just wants some peace and quiet. She lives in a house with three brothers and can never find any privacy. There is an old abandoned barn near her house that her dad and mom have forbidden her to even enter because it could be dangerous. But she is drawn to the solitude she finds in the barn. When she is in the barn she can do her favorite things sketch and write in her journal. When she discovers some clues that she might not be the only person using the barn she knows her secret place is no longer hers. Unraveling the mystery of who it is leads to someone totally suprising, someone that could use her help. I think this book although geered toward younger people is a great read for any age. It gives a glimpse of Amish life, including a glossary of Amish terms used in the book. The mystery is entertwined with life lessons that we all can use . I think Ms.Fuller hit a home run with this book. I can't wait to read the next one in the series. I will also be checking out her other Amish stories. Disclaimer I was furnished a free copy of this book by Thomas Nelson's Booksneeze program . In no way does this alter my opinion of this book.
