My take on this book:
Carole P. Roman takes readers on an adventure to the Republic of Italy in her latest book, If You Were Me And Lived i Italy. The illustrations are paired perfectly with the text to provide an interesting way to learn not only about the culture of Italy but also a brief history lesson as well. Readers will learn about the capital of Rome, sharing facts about when the city was founded and by who, along with a several interesting tidbits that really enhance the book. Toddlers and young children, along with older folks too, will learn about the culture, including some of the favorite foods. They also learn several Italian words, and don't worry there is a pronunciation guide to help with getting the words right. A book that teaches while also entertaining, what a great way to learn about what it might be like to live in Italy.
