There’s no graphic violence, no steamy romance, no foul language in this book. Just good, clean fun, colorful characters, and one heck of a mystery, or two, or….

Amateur sleuth and dreamwalker Baxley Powell is called in on a stabbing case. She arrives in time to hear the dying man whisper, “Bubba done it.”
Four men named Bubba in Sinclair County, Georgia, have close ties to the victim, including her goofball brother-in-law, Bubba Powell.
She dreamwalks for answers, but the victim can’t talk to her, leaving Baxley to sleuth among the living. The suspects include a down-on-his-luck fisherman, a crack-head evangelist, a politically- connected investor, and her brother-in-law, the former sweetheart of the victim’s ex-wife.
The more Baxley digs, the more the Bubbas start to unravel. Worse, her brother-in-law’s definitely more than friendly with the victim’s ex-wife.
Between pet-sitting, landscaping, and dreamwalking, Baxley’s got her hands full solving this case.

My take on this book:
Bubba Done It is a book that held my attention from beginning to end. It's an exciting who-dun- it with a paranormal twist which is actually blended very well into the plot. It really just seemed like a realistic part of who Baxley is and I felt like it enhances the storyline. The southern setting is a wonderful setting for the story, after all the victim's dying words are Bubba Done It and where else but the south are you gonna find more Bubba's than you can shake a stick at!  Ms. Toussaint not only brings her characters to life with rich, vivid detail but also brings the setting to life as well.  I really enjoy the character of Baxley, she is easy to like, as a single mom she is very easy to relate to. Truly a mystery that kept me guessing. While this book is the second in the Dreamwalker Mystery series I feel like the author provides enough background information that it can be read as a stand alone. I haven't read the first book and had no problems diving right into this story. I am a huge fan of Charlaine Harris and Ms. Toussaint's writing is right on par with hers. After reading Bubba Done It I find myself wanting to read everything this author has written.

  1. Thank you, Brenda, for such a wonderful, insightful review of BUBBA DONE IT. I am so flattered to be compared to Charlaine, and yes, she may as well have only one name in this genre she's that well known. I appreciate your interest in my series and hope that you will request future books as well. DOGGONIT, in which a ghost dog helps Baxley solve a double homicide, will come out next year. All the best to you, and thanks again for inflating my head this morning and putting a grin on my face. Who says authors can't write run-on sentences?... Maggie
