We live in a world filled to the brim with advice, and when it comes to dealing with stress, there's plenty of advice to go around. Sleep more, eat better, avoid this, seek out that. But more advice on coping is not necessarily what the stressed and anxious person needs. What we need is a cure. Linda Evans Shepherd has discovered it.

The true remedy to stress, she says, is prayer. In this inspiring book, Shepherd shows readers how to recognize God's continual presence and yield their troubles to the Prince of Peace. Through captivating stories, explorations of fascinating biblical characters, and examples of deeper-than-ever prayers, she brings within readers' grasp the peace that passes understanding. Anyone who is overwhelmed by all of the urgent demands on their time will find in this book a lifeline to true peace.

My take on this book:
Who doesn't have stress? Do you think perhaps that it is just a way of life, that you are always going to have stress in your life, well Linda Evans Shepherd says prayer is the true remedy to stress. The Stress Cure is an easy to read book that shares Biblical truths on how to handle stress. With chapter titles such as stuck, overwhelmed, frustrated, and burdened to name a few, each chapter provides useful information on how to tackle the issues that one might be facing. Instead of reading this book cover to cover I found myself thumbing thru and reading the chapters that actually pertained to me. There were several things that I found useful with this book, such as how the author guides us into prayer, and opening each chapter with a scripture. While I enjoyed the personal stories I couldn't really get into the Biblically embellished ones, but that is just me personally. Overall anyone looking to reduce the amount of stress in their lives should certainly check out this book.Truthfully though it's a great book for anyone looking to strengthen their prayer life or strengthen their walk with God.
