Renee Walker is terrorized by nightmares of the haunted house she lived in twenty years ago at age fifteen. She can't remember what happened the night she ran away and hasn't seen her mother or two brothers since. She only knows she's deathly afraid of the dark and feels like everyone thinks she's crazy. She's the small town's secret - even from herself. She starts to see a new young psychiatrist, Dr. Melissa Dagen, who begins hypnosis to try to help.
Things go from bad to real after the hypnosis' start, only Renee can't tell the difference between dreams and reality anymore. The house itself is out to reclaim her. Nowhere feels safe as the sessions seem to unlock a door. Renee must face what happened that night, there's no escape from it now...not that there ever was.

My take on this book:
Renee Walker was only fifteen years old when something so horrific happened to her while living in the house on Pine Street that she ran away and never went back. She can't remember what happened but now at thirty-five she finds that she is deathly afraid of the dark and can no longer sleep at night because of it. She decides to see a new psychiatrist, Dr. Melissa Dagen, with the hopes of getting help. When Dr.Dagen decides to use hypnosis things go from bad to worse and the only way that she can overcome whatever happened is to face it head on, but is she strong enough or will it push her completely over the edge!

The author doles out the suspense with just the right amount of intensity to keep the reader on the edge of their seat anticipating what might come next, but especially needing to know just what happened to Renee all those years ago on Pine Street! I found myself drawn into Renee's world, and the picture the author painted of her allowed me to visualize a truly haunted woman. Her husband Mike was totally supportive and did his best to help her children understand what was going on with their mother. Overall, "Return to Pine Street" provides more than a few twists, and ratcheted up my imagination as I raced to the end of the story so that I would know just what happened in the house on Pine Street! A great Halloween read, but truthfully perfect anytime you're looking for a suspense filled page turner, that just might send a chill down your spine!

About the Author

Cassie Williams began writing over ten years ago and enjoys creating stories in different genres. Her first novel, RETURN TO PINE STREET: Renee Walker's Haunting, is based on a haunted house she lived in when she was in Junior High. Although the concept of the book is made up - her returning to the house during hypnosis - it was her fear as an adult of moving into another haunted house that gave her the idea to write the book. Cassie enjoys spending time with her three grown children and two grandchildren. She looks forward to penning the many ideas in her head and hopes that each of you will find something in her stories. "My goal is to make the reader feel something... anything. If they haven't, then I haven't done my job."
