Philadelphia image consultant Allison Campbell is not your typical detective.  She’s more familiar with the rules of etiquette than the rules of evidence, prefers three-inch Manolos to comfy flats and relates to Dear Abby, not Judge Judy.
When Allison’s latest Main Line client, the fifteen-year-old Goth daughter of a White House hopeful, is accused of the ritualistic murder of a local divorce attorney, Allison fights to prove her client’s innocence when no one else will.  But in a place where image is everything, the ability to distinguish the truth from the façade may be the only thing that keeps Allison alive.

My take on this book:
Allison Campbell is very good at her job of image consultant,She becomes an advocate of sorts to her clients believing in them when they often didn't believe in themselves. She often works for women who need to reinvent themselves in order to overcome divorce or whatever else has happened in their lives. When Congressman Hank McBride and his wife Sunny asks for her assistance with their fifteen year old daughter Maggie. While Allison hesitates, it seems the McBrides really won't take no for an answer. It doesn't take long for Allison to have her hands full when Maggie is accused of murdering Arnie Feldman, a local divorce attorney. Can Allison figure out who the real murderer is before it's to late?
If I had to describe "Killer Image" in one word it would be WOW! The author pulled me in with the beginning chapter where a murder takes place, making me need to know what actually happened! Ms. Tyson is a true wordsmith who knows how to build a story, not only by providing a page turning plot, but also introducing us to characters whose stories were quite interesting in their own rights. Allison is an easy to relate to lead, not only is she dealing with family issues, such as an ex who wants a second chance, and a mother in law whom she is trying to reconcile with, added to that is the fact that she feels she failed at helping someone and you have a lead character whose life is quite interesting! Her business manager Vaughn also stood out for me, he adds his own layer to the story to keep the plot moving along. I have to say that "Killer Image" is sort of like a cozy mystery on steroids, it's dark edgy feel along with a fast paced plot, and well developed characters pulled me along making this a page turning, edge of your seat while you anticipate the next page kind of read!"Killer Image" is a grand kickoff for the Allison Campbell Mystery series, I can't wait to see what her plans might be for the next book in this series!!
