The Glenbrooke Series
Jessica ran from her past...but can she hide from love?
Jessica Morgan wants desperately to forget the past and begin a new life. She chooses a small, peaceful town tucked away in Oregon’s Willamette Valley as the place to start over—Glenbrooke. Once there, Jessica conceals her identity from the intriguing personalities she meets—including the compassionate paramedic who desires to protect her and the jealous woman who wants nothing more than to destroy her.
Will Jessica’s deceit ruin all hope for the future? Or will she find a deeper peace that allows her to stop hiding the truth from those who love her most of all?
This heartwarming bestseller, book one in the Glenbrooke series, introduces the fascinating people of Glenbrooke in a compelling tale of romance and spiritual truth.
My take on this book:
"Secrets" is the first book in the Glenbrooke Series written by Robin Jones Gunn. In this story we are introduced to Jessica Morgan who has just turned twenty-five and is hoping for a fresh start in life, changing her name and heading for Glenbrooke where she hopes she can leave her past behind. When an accident has her meeting firefighter Kyle Buchanan they are drawn to each other. What is Jessica running from, and will her past keep her from having a future with Kyle?
An interesting story with well developed characters pulled me in from the beginning pages. I was anxious to learn who or what Jessica was running from. I really enjoyed the character development as well as watching the friendship grow between Jessica and Kyle. Robin Jones Gunn is a new to me author, not sure how I missed her work, but after reading "Secrets" I am anxious to read more from the Glenbrooke series. If your a fan of a nice contemporary romance, with christian themes woven in your going to enjoy "Secrets" I know I did!
