Kirby Puckernut is Santa's cleverest little elf. While dreaming up marvelous toys for good girls and boys, Kirby has his best idea yet - a real elf in every home, all through the holidays, spreading Christmas Magic! Santa finds the perfect family and allows Kirby to serve as the test elf for the first momentous visit. Fun and adventure are at every turn, but not everything goes as planned...

Will Kirby's idea be a success?

This is a story that can be read to children of all ages, or be read by children ages 6 and up.

My take on this book:
Kirby Puckernut is one of Santa's elves that lives in the quaint town of Els Mere, which isn't to far from the North Pole. Now all the elves are always busy making toys for good little boys and girls, but they are also dreaming up new ideas for toys as well, and no elf does it better than Kirby!  One night Kirby comes up with an idea for spreading real Christmas magic throughout the homes of children everywhere, by sending all the elves of Els Mere to stay with the children thru the holidays. When he goes to Santa with his idea, Santa is impressed and decides to try out Kirby's plan, thing is Kirby is going to be the test elf. What a grand adventure for Kirby, but will his plan work? You must read his story and find out!

Beautiful illustrations immediately drew me into the pages of this story. I actually read it to a young friend of mine, who is five and she fell in love with the pictures, and really liked the letters that were signed by Santa. She was actually able to read most  of the story to me.

The Harborsen family, which Kirby went to visit seemed like a very realistic family, they had their moments of bickering, like most siblings, but you could tell that they loved each other. There was Izzie, who had just celebrated her thirteenth birthday,Cooper, and young Sophie, and of course Mocha the wonder dog. While Izzie was skeptical at first  the younger children quickly took to Kirby.I really enjoyed seeing the story unfold, and loved the ending. I think "Kirby Puckernut And The Christmas Surprise" is the perfect Christmas read, for anyone not just youngsters, I know I loved it! A story that will certainly become a beloved Christmas treasure to cherish each year with your youngsters.

From Alicia:
This magical story came about when Santa sent one of his elves, Kirby Puckernut, to live in our home at Christmastime. Kirby was creative, very fun and persistent. It wasn’t enough for him to simply observe our family and help deliver my children’s gifts – he wanted to get to know them. Our family has enjoyed the magical days of Kirby’s visits year after year.
Come share in our tradition – invite Kirby and the Els Mere elves into your home this Christmas season!
