Book Description

Love Inspired Historical November 1, 2011

Grateful when she's hired as the Davises' maid, Ruby Ballard vows to help save her family's farm. There's just one problem: the boss's handsome son, Lorenzo. He makes her forget family duty, forget her lowly place, even forget her friends who are in love with him! But his love is a gift that could never be hers—not even for Christmas.

Lorenzo knows Ruby is the only woman he could marry. Yet the quiet beauty refuses his courtship. As the holidays approach, he will make both their wishes come true, when he claims her at last as his snowflake bride.

My take on this book:
Being a fan of historical fiction the Love Inspired Historical fiction series of books are right up my alley. While these little books are really quick reads there is always a great story with a positive ending, who could ask for more?
The main character in this one is Ruby Ballard. Her family is down on their luck and are about to lose the family farm, and the only thing she can do is try and find a job. When she lands a job working for the Davises' as their maid, she doesn't  realize that she has caught the eye of their oldest son Lorenzo. Can Lorenzo convince Ruby that they are meant to be together?
This was such a sweet story. Ruby was a character to be admired. She didn't let her problems get her down, the financial problems her family faced seemed all to real.It was great that Ruby had the support of her good friends. I thought Lorenzo was such an honorable person, and the story between him and Ruby developed at just the right pace. A nice story perfect for Christmas or anytime your looking for a feel good story with a happy ending.
