About the book:

Dear Reader,
You won't believe what's happened. My son Tulane has come back home! You remember Tulane? He'd set out to find fame and fortune in the big, wide world outside of Last Chance, and I'm mighty proud. But that's not the half of it-Tulane isn't only back, he's brought a young lady with him.
Now Sarah-she does PR for Tulane's stock-car team-she's from Boston, but she's just about the sweetest girl you could meet. I think she's meant to keep Tulane out of trouble after that story in the papers, but he doesn't want to talk about it. Anyhow, the Ladies Auxiliary can't wait to start matchmaking and introduce Sarah to our Reverend Ellis. But mark my words, Sarah is tired of being a good girl. And no one is better at breaking the rules and raising Cain than my son . . .
Listen to me going on and keeping customeres waiting. I best get back to work, but you come round again. The Cut 'n' Curl's got hot rollers, free coffee, and the best gossip in town.
See you real soon,
Ruby Rhodes

My take on this book:

Sarah Murray works in public relations for a company called National Brands, and that company paid millions to Jim Ferguson Racing to paint their stock cars pink the official color of the Cottontail Disposable diaper brand that they are promoting, and if the color pink wasn't bad enough they put a huge bunny decal on the hood of the car as well, and you better bet Tulane Rhodes the driver of the car is far from happy, after all he has his bad boy reputation to uphold .Sarah Murray is just a nice girl, whom Tulane likes to call prissy. They are total opposites, and when they wind up in Last Chance, Tulane's hometown Sarah spends some time with Tulane's family, and soon learns something he has kept hidden. Not only that she is starting to fall for him, but can a relationship between Sarah  and NASCAR's bad boy ever work ?

Having read the first book in this series titled "Welcome To Last Chance," I was excited to take a trip back to the quaint town. I love the setting of the book and the quirky characters really make the story. The author really portrayed Tulane's character very well, the southern good ole boy whose speech and mannerisms were very realistic. While I knew from the beginning that there would be a relationship between Sarah and Tulane it was nice to see it develop. I thought the plot moved along at a brisk pace and the story line had be laughing out loud on a few occasions.

If you enjoy romance set in the south, with plenty of interesting characters and several laughs then your certainly going to want to pick up this one. While it is the second book in the Last Chance series I felt like it could be read as a stand alone work because the author gives enough background information about the characters, although its such a great series I would highly recommend reading the first book as well.

About the book:

What if you can go home again?
Ten years and two hundred miles. That's what separates Andi Powell from quiet, secluded Emerald Lake-and that's exactly how she likes it. But now her job brings her back to the hometown she's tried so hard to forget . . . and to Nate Duncan, the man she's never been able to.
Nate once looked at Andi with love in his eyes. But that was before she left him in the dust to pursue her big-city dreams. Now he's the town's ruggedly handsome mayor with the power to break Andi's career like she broke his heart. As the two clash over the future of Emerald Lake, the sparks that fly between them rekindle a passion neither of them can deny.
Andi may have left town looking for the life she thought she wanted. But could everything she needs have been in Emerald Lake all along?

My take on this book:

Andi Powell left tiny Emerald Lake right out of high school to head to New York to pursue her dreams. She didn't only leave behind her family she also left Nate Duncan someone who she never really got out of her system. Now its ten years later and she finds herself back home in Emerald Lake because a client of hers wants to build vacation condominiums and Emerald Lake is the perfect spot.  Thing is Andi will have to convince the town council of the idea, but there is one obstacle in her way and that's Nate Duncan. Turns out her old high school boyfriend is the mayor, and since they didn't have such an amicable breakup, actually they haven't spoken since the blow up ~ err break up. How will things work out for Andi once she faces Nate, and will she realize that perhaps what she has been looking for all along is in the tiny town of Emerald Lake?

This book literally hooked me from the first pages because Andi's grandmother ran a yarn store called Lake Yarns. While that piqued my interest the characters and plot kept the story moving right along. Andi was someone that I actually felt sorry for, she seemed like someone who only had her job and nothing else. Even though she had a mother and grandmother in Emerald Lake she sort of kept her distance from them. I just loved Andi's grandmother, she easily had to be one of my favorite characters in the story. The fact that she ran a yarn store and instructed knitting was really something I connected to. Nate was a great character, a true family man.
If your looking for a book with a small town feel, with descriptions that allow you to envision the town, with plenty of charming characters your in for a real treat with "Home Sweet Home." Recommended!
