Hollywood Nobody by Lisa Samson~ review

Hollywood Nobody (Hollywood Nobody Series, Book 1) Product Description

Fifteen-year-old Scotty Dawn has spent her young life on the road, traveling to movie sets with her single mom, Charley, a food designer. Yet even though Scotty is wise beyond her years, she still struggles to find her identity. Complicating matters is a mother who offers no guidance and a father she's never met.

Now Scotty is determined to discover what she wants from life. She's even documenting the journey on her "Hollywood Nobody" blog. But as Scotty begins to find dark answers to tough questions, will her story have a happy ending?

The first in a series, Hollywood Nobody is a novel for teen girls that examines real issues with honesty and humor. Enhancing the book's themes, the story includes journal and blog entries as well as screenplay dialog, providing an engaging experience for readers.

My take on this book:
Scotty is a fifteen year old girl who lives in an RV and travels from one movie location to the next, meeting
celebs is a normal thing, and while this life is something alot of people her age might love, not Scotty. She would rather live a normal life with a house and yard, and go to regular school, instead of homeschooling herself. Her outlet has always been writing in her diary, but when she decides to start a blog called Hollywood Nobody, where she blogs anonymously about the stars she encounters, it becomes an overnight sensation, but there are still mysteries in her life that she longs to have an answers for, like knowing who her dad is, and why they have to move around all the time.
The story drew me in immediately, I liked the  way that it was written, part blog, part diary entries, and first person perspective, jumping back and forth really made it interesting. Scotty was a very mature for her age  and was so easy to like, she often seemed more mature than her mother. The author throws in a bit of mystery at the end that left me wanting to read the next book in the series.

"Hollywood Nobody" is a quick read that has wonderful but quirky characters peppered with humor and a bit of mystery, with a dash of religion sprinkled in, making it  a great read for anyone from teens to adults.

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
