Noah's Ark By Debby Mayne

Noah's Ark (HEARTSONG PRESENTS - CONTEMPORARY)
This is a Heartsongs Presents book published in 2009

From the Back Cover

Now that she has a bachelor’s degree in art history, Emily is unable to find work in her field. The jobs she wants require a master’s degree, and she isn’t sure she’s ready to go back to school. So she heads to West Virginia, the only place she’s ever felt at home, to see if she can figure out what to do with her life.
Noah Blake may be in over his head. His veterinary practice is taking off, but he has little help and too many clients in arrears. When Emily comes to work for him part-time, her skills and pleasant nature quickly pull things into order. At least in the office. His heart, however, is another matter!
Can Emily’s great big dreams fit into little Huntington, West Virginia? Her goal was New York City. Should Noah even try to compete
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.2 Timothy 1:7
Emily Kimball's father has recently died and her mom decided about the time Emily hit puberty that she could no longer handle family life, making Emily wonder if perhaps it was her fault her mom left.
So when Emily quits a job she hates. She decides she needs to figure out what she wants to do with her life. The only place that feels like home to her is her aunt Sherry and uncle Mel's farm right outside of Huntington WV.
Immediately upon arrival she is thrown right into helping with some chickens that had to be rescued from some area farms that had been flooded.
Heading up the rescue is Noah Blake who runs Noah's Ark animal clinic.
When Emily is introduced to Noah she feels an immediate attraction to him, and when he offers her a part time job at his clinic she gladly accepts.
When she realizes the finances are a mess at the clinic she quickly gets things under control. Noah is very appreciative of all she has done and starts comparing her to his ex-girlfriend who dumped him after realizing she couldn't handle small town life.
Will Emily decide to stay in Huntington and can Noah give love another try?

Even though this is a pretty predictable  read with an easy to follow plot I really enjoyed it. I love the local flavor the story had for me,  I live about 30 minutes from Huntington. So if  you need a book you can read in an hour or so then this might be just what your looking for.
