A Book Review For HOT by Laura L. Smith

HOT by Laura L. Smith
from the back cover:  Lindsey is gorgeous and dresses like a model, but inside she feels alone. She feels as though no one truly understands her- until she meets Noah. Nah possesses a calm self-confidence that Lindsey craves. But what price will she pay to escape to the comfort of Noah's soft words and strong arms?
Drawn into a world where fashion, boys, and popularity rule, will Lindsey discover what truly matters before its too late?

My review:  Lindsey Kraus is a young lady with alot going on in her life. Her mom and dad are so wrapped up in whats going on with her older sister Kristine that Lindsey sometimes wonders if they ever even see her. Her dad works out of town alot and she really misses him. She went from being an gawky kid in eighth grade (the year her braces came off and she had eye surgery so she wouldn't have to wear glasses anymore) to being the  pretty girl  she always wanted to be. .Being pretty made the boys ask her out but all they seem to want is one thing something physical. That's not what she wants though she wants someone to listen to her. So when she bumps into Noah Hornung one morning on her way to class something clicks and she can't get him out of her mind.

They start dating, going to youth meetings at church watching movies etc, when Noah tells her he isn't a virgin she begins wondering if their relationship will lead to sex. She has always believed that she would wait until marriage to have sex. She has even toyed with the idea of a chastity ring. But will she be able to wait? With all the feelings she has for Noah she isn't sure, and if she decides to wait will he be ok with waiting? Will Lindsey figure out that God is always there for her, no matter what?

This is a great book geared toward young adults and I would think that any young lady, perhaps young men as well, would benefit greatly from reading this book. Even though it is a sequel to Skinny it can be read as a totally stand alone book. This book was furnished to me by NavPress but in no way does it alter my opinion of this book.
