Outlive Your Life by Max Lucado (review)

Outlive Your Life: You Were Made to Make A DifferenceProduct Description

These are difficult days in our world's history. 1.75 billion people are desperately poor, natural disasters are gouging entire nations, and economic uncertainty still reigns across the globe. But you and I have been given an opportunity to make a big difference. What if we did? What if we rocked the world with hope? Infiltrated all corners with God's love and life? We are created by a great God to do great works. He invites us to outlive our lives, not just in heaven, but here on earth. Let's live our lives in such a way that the world will be glad we did.

My take on this book:
We only have one chance to live this life and we choose how to live it. Do we stick our heads in the sand and think that everything is ok or do we wake up and realize that as Christians we have the responsibility to make life better for others if we can?
This book quotes some staggering numbers, the number of poor, and hungry is something that's hard to imagine. Mr Lucado's book gives us a wake up call as to what we can do to make a change.
You don't have to be rich or even well off, instead of focusing on what you don't have to give, focus on what you can give. It's that average Joe that makes a difference, the little things that add up.
I really enjoyed his use of scripture throughout this book and liked how he started each chapter with a scripture verse and ended the chapters with another scripture and a prayer.
This is a very simply written book that can change your way of thinking, its very inspiring, a book that you wont be able to put down and will continue to think about long after you finish it.
A very timely message that we all need to read, I highly recommend this book!

I was provided a copy of this book by Thomas Nelson's Booksneeze program in exchange for an honest review!
