But, life for a Cobweb Catcher can be difficult and things aren't always what they seem. Magical powers alone are not enough, especially when Delores' success means unbalancing the ecology of her town.

My take on this book: 

Sixteen year old Delores Fletcher has just graduated witches school and it really isn't any surprise what her assignment will be. She is going to be taking over the job of Cobweb Catcher, from her aunt Rita Begga who is anticipating her retirement to Florida. She doesn't really have any friends from school, and thinks she will be alone when her aunt leaves, instead though Geoffrey Collins McDuff a ghost who is having difficulty figuring out the ghost thing comes to haunt her house. Her aunt Rita shows Delores how she has been doing business, but Delores wants to do things her own way,and soon has gotten rid of all the spiders in town,but that causes another problem that the Mayor blames her for. Can Delores come up with a plan that will make everyone happy? 

"Delores Fletcher,Cobweb Catcher," is a story filled with wonderful characters and a plot that takes place in an enchanted land that easily captured my imagination.Delores is a character that is easy to like. She has magical powers and gets to fly around on her broom, which is named Stella. Delores lives with her aunt until graduation, and then her aunt gives her the house and moves to Florida. I loved the magical feel of the house, there was talking mirrors and doors, not to mention McDuff the house ghost, who was a great cook, but also a very good friend for Delores. I enjoyed the character of Delores' 3g grandmother Mabel. She taught Delores a few valuable lessons and gave Delores a sense of family. Kathryn Rose Jacoby does an amazing job of weaving a tale that will certainly appeal to teens and tweens. With a positive storyline, that is easy to follow, "Delores Fletcher, Cobweb Catcher" is the perfect Halloween read, but honestly it's a story that I would enjoy any time of the year.
