October 1, 2012 Winds of Change (Book 3)

Orphaned in Iowa, Annie Kennedy moves to Boston to stay with her spinster aunt. She longs for romance to fill the void left by her parents' death. But when she falls hard for Steven O'Connor, the man who broke an engagement to her sister, Annie is worried. Will he break her heart too when he discovers who she really is?

My take on this book:
Seventeen year old Susannah Grace Kennedy made the move from Badger, Iowa to Boston after the death of her parents. She is going to be living with her aunt Eleanor, and has decided she wants to forget her  "good girl" past, and even decides she wants to be called Annie.  Her sister Maggie had sent her letters while in college raving about the hot spots in Boston, so Annie starts hanging out with a fast crowd, and making some choices that aren't so wise. When she meets Steven O'Connor her sister's former fiancee she falls hard for him. Thing is he doesn't know that Annie is actually Maggie's sister, and Steven really isn't interested anyway, or at least that's what he keeps telling himself. What will happen when he realizes who Annie really is?

Another great story from Julie Lessman! I enjoyed connecting with the characters from the former books, and with that said, even though this is the third book in the Wind Of Change series it can easily be read as a stand alone work.
The thing that I enjoy about this series is the many subplots that go on within the book, and "A Love Surrendered" is no different. The main characters are Steven a prohibition agent with the government that is dealing with a broken heart, even though he was the one to break things off with Maggie he believes he is still in love with her. Annie seems like someone who is anxous to grow up.It was so nice to see both of the characters grow spiritually as the story progressed. The secondary stories really keep the plot moving along, and allow us to reconnect with the  O'Connor family. Overall I have really enjoyed this series, it has everything that I enjoy reading. Historical fiction that brings the time period to life along with great characters, romance and a nice inspirational message who could ask for anything more?

A complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
